My Whip Card
My Whip Card is an interactive web application that allows lobbyists to follow different bills currently in legislation, tally predicted votes, track key conversions, assign team members to specific legislators, and share notes. The application automates several critical processes for lobbyists, allowing them to abandon outdated paper vote cards and increase efficiency and accuracy. My Whip Card came to Centresource with a partially developed first version of their product. We were tasked with completing the development of the application, as well as overhauling the user interface to get My Whip Card ready for a version one release and validation in the marketplace.
What CS gives me that other developer shops have not been able to provide is broader advice about my business as a whole. Not only have they been able to create drop dead gorgeous design and professional development, but they've been able to advise me on my product door to door. This experience and advice is invaluable to a young startup.
In order to minimize development costs and complete a shippable product sooner, our development team worked with the existing code within the application. We were able to salvage the workable pieces and build off of them, performing key bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Openstate s is a collection of tools that aggregate state government data from across the country. We used the Openstates API to provide My Whip Card with robust and accurate data about current legislation.
The user interface of the application was completely refreshed - creating cleaner branding and design for the entire application. Additionally, feature enhancements improved user experience.
Through feature enhancements and user interface improvements, My Whip Card quickly arrived at an elegant working solution for the initial release. The company exceeded initial sales and adoption goals for version one, allowing them to head into future phases of development with confidence. By getting to market early, My Whip Card validated their idea in the marketplace and started earning revenue quickly. The increased user understanding gave the team confidence to head into future development phases.
