Seedbed’s mission is focused on building communities to gather and connect with God. We were tasked with helping Seedbed understand how to innovate their ecosystem to facilitate the growth of their communities. We solved this through a dedicated product team that worked in lockstep to identify, plan, and solve for Seedbed’s long-term business goals. The project output was a web application for distribution of their content to a wider audience, as well as restructuring their multiple marketing sites and e-commerce platform to scale with their growth over time.
Centresource demonstrated extraordinary accountability and responsiveness to our team. In fact, we learned a lot about best practices as a team by working with them. We have become a better team and organization in the process of the project.
A large ecosystem of over 40 Wordpress installs, and over 400 contributing author accounts were consolidated into a new, singular content management system, with a focus on improving the design, ease of navigation, searchability, and SEO.
Ruby on Rails
The main content distribution application was built in Ruby on Rails, with a focus on the administrative user and ease of building content within the interface. Specific content types were built with styling to match front end user needs.
To create Seedbed’s new online store, we utilized Solidus, a custom e-commerce solution built with Ruby on Rails. Solidus allowed for a more customized storefront, enhanced user browsing experience, and scalability over time.
Seedbed's new marketing website launched in April 2016, and the application launched at Seedbed’s yearly New Room conference in September 2016. The consolidation of Seedbed's 40+ marketing sites into one comprehensive website had a profound positive impact for the client, as we were able to improve their key brand SEO and boost operational efficiencies for their team to admin the site. Because Seedbed was previously focused on traditional book publishing, the transition into technology allowed their team to become true Product Owners. Through the process of working with our team, Seedbed was able to improve their understanding of the technological impact of their business requirements, as well as develop knowledge of ongoing feature enhancement, user testing, research, and product management.
