Well, Opera has had user javascript support since way before Greasemonkey, it's just not got the snazzy easy sharing and management user interface Greasemonkey does. (Nor a few of the custom methods like GM_getValue, GM_setValue and GM_xmlhttpRequest - but considering some of that is available to Widgets, there is certainly more to hope for, eventually.)
